Ground Beef Recipes

Ground Beef Recipes

I'm Kylie Buckley, busy homeschooling mom to three rambunctious kids. We work hard and we play hard and we are passionate about good food.

A brand-new way of cooking has entered my home. Freeze dried foods are quickly becoming a way to prepare meals that satisfy both my want for convenience and my need for nutrition and taste.

As soon as this kit was available we snatched one up and tried all the recipes. I love that even though the main dishes are all ground beef recipes there is enough variety to the menu that these meals can be enjoyed back to back if you wanted.

Ground Beef Recipes Included:
  • Hearty Calzone
  • Italian Baked Penne
  • Shepherd’s Pie
  • Weeknight Tacos

Side Dish Recipes Included:
  • Vegetable Medley
  • Loaded Refried Beans

When you first open your box, you will see these beautiful recipe cards that list the items you need from your kit, and the items you will need from your fridge/pantry, such as spices, cheese, taco toppings, tortillas, just some basic things that are probably already in your home.

Then when you flip the recipe card over, the card shows you step by step how to make the meal. Most of these recipes require around 20 minutes or so to prepare and as a busy mom, I can totally muster up the strength for 20-minute meals. Especially when most of the prep work is done and much of it is just scooping items out of cans.

Your pack includes the following pantry cans and spice can:
1 Ground Beef (FD)
1 Tomato Sauce
1 Chopped Onions (FD)
1 Tomato Dices (FD)
1 Green Beans (FD)
1 Sweet Corn (FD)
1 Country White Dough Mix
1 Instant Refried Beans
1 Mashed Potatoes
1 Italian Seasoning Blend
(FD) = Freeze Dried

We really loved the Ground Beef Recipes of Weeknight Tacos, and Oven Baked Penne.

My husband requested less of the Italian Seasoning in the Calzones.

That was a meal that I normally wouldn’t make because it’s a bit fancier than this busy, tired momma would even attempt, but the dough mix is basically fool proof and it wasn’t as much work as I thought it was going to be, I just had to plan ahead to let the dough rise.

Next time we will probably skip the Italian herbs and make the Vegetable Medley with Chef’s Choice seasoning from last month’s Intro Kit.

After making the 4 meals and 2 sides We have quite a few extra ingredients added to our home store.

The items we used up: ground beef and the dough mix, and refried beans.

Items we have left over: 1/2 pantry can mashed potatoes, 2/3 can of Tomato Sauce, 1/2 can Tomato Dices, 1/2 can Chopped Onions, 1/2 can both Green Beans and Sweet Corn, and most of the Italian Seasoning.

These items are a great addition to our home store for future meals!

These foods will stay good on our shelf for up to 1 year after opening, so I don’t feel rushed to try and figure out how to use them up really quick before they go bad.

All in all, I was quite pleased with the “Let’s Get Cookin'” pack. Can’t wait to see what kits are coming in the future! To get your Let’s Get Cookin’ Ground Beef Recipes Kit, click here: http://kyliebuckley.com/lets-get-cookin/
